We will be hosting our annual book swap at the 2018 Skills Development Conference. Feel free to bring books and take some home! (You do not have to donate books to take some books from our stock 😉 )
Reading, especially for teachers, is an important brain tickler that we adults sometimes forget when life gets so busy – especially when it’s hard to find reading materials! Some local bookstores and libraries do have English sections, but the choices are limiting. That’s why we host the book swap every year!
Where else can I get printed English books?
Akita International University, Nakajima Library
The Akita International University library is packed full of English books – and, if I remember correctly, they are open to the public for check out! (Not just for students). Also, the AIU library has been hailed as one of the most beautiful university libraries in the world. It is a must see!

Book Depository
We also suggest Book Depository. A UK-based bookseller that has free international shipping! It’s been a lifesaver for this Secretary’s grad school textbooks. 😉
The Akitan Book Reviews
Our quarterly online magazine, the Akitan, also has a section dedicated to book reviews! Give it a read if you are looking for recommendations.
